Food is data. Each meal prepared carries the ability to aid or inhibit a child’s ability to grow, focus and control their emotions. Here is a list of 10 of the most convenient foods to research, trusted, and found in Indian households.

Incorporate These Foods into Your Child's Diet

  • Eggs - This food can support development of memory and brain cells with the choline component. Eggs in any style (scrambled, boiled, etc.) count.
  • Walnuts - This food supports brain function with plant-based Omega-3 fatty acids. It is also a brain food because of its shape.
  • Ghee - It was formerly thought that healthy fats could not support brain development. This assumption is not true for children under 5.
  • Greens (Palak, Methi) - The presence of iron, folate, and Vitamin K can support brain function and can be found in these foods.
  • Berries (Blueberries, Strawberries) - This food supports memory and brain function because of its antioxidant properties and ability to reduce brain inflammation.
  • Bananas - This food supports brain function with its B6 and fast acting glucose.
  • Fish - This food is one of the best sources to support brain development with its Omega-3 fatty acids.
  • Turmeric - This food can help assist brain function and growth of brain cells.
  • Lentils and Dal - This food can aid brain function with its iron and stamina component.
  • Milk and Curd - This food can support brain function with its calcium and Vitamin D.

It is not necessary to implement each of these foods into your child's diet every day. Rotating 3-4 foods weekly will be beneficial to your child.
