Signs to Look For

  • Afternoon crashes and irritability are signs of a blood sugar drop and spike that result from a lunch high in sugar and/or refined carbohydrates. As a solution, add lunch time protein.
  • Difficulty concentrating is a result of a lunch high in sugar along with artificial colors and preservatives.
  • Frequent lunch time irritability is associated with the foods consumed between meals. Often, the cause is a packaged food snack.
  • Mood variability and a lack of a stable emotional state and irritability along with chronic stomach pain is associated with discomfort and volatility. The pain is caused by a discomfort of the digestive system and the brain.
  • The primary cause of hyperactivity is lunch time foods. The primary cause of irritability is foods consumed at other times.  The answer becomes obvious after keeping a food and mood diary for two weeks.

It is important to identify the causes by removing the irritants gradually over two to three weeks each. It is important to note that the changes should be gradually implemented.
